Permanent Publications – Greenest SME in Britain
Ground breaking Hampshire based environmental publisher, Permanent
Publications, were winners of the Small & Medium Enterprises (SME)
category at the 2007 National Energy Efficiency awards. They have been judged as the greenest small and medium size company in
Britain, national ‘Climate heroes’ (a full page feature in The
Independent) and ‘Champions of positive solutions for the environment’.
As well as producing critically acclaimed books on sustainability, they
also publish Permaculture Magazine – solutions for sustainable living
(www.permaculture.co.uk) and run the online Green Shopping Catalogue
(www.green-shopping.co.uk).
Maddy Harland, one of the company’s founders, says, ‘We have been
championing positive solutions to climate change and environmental
damage for nearly 20 years and we are delighted to win national
recognition, not only for how we manage our company, but also for being
leaders in our field at a time when people are beginning to want to
know what they, their families and local communities can do
themselves.’
