The InSpiral lounge is a daytime eco café that trades in healthy organic vegetarian and vegan foods, raw juices, superfoods and much more. The aim is to inspire about the effect of healthy nutrition and equally important, the positive impact that natural food choices have on the world we live in.
Furthermore the InSpiral lounge is a multifunctional night time venue and event space that caters for a large and inclusive variety of creative offerings at times addressing crucial issues in a fun and achievable way.
InSpiral is also vehicle for social change, employing creative media, arts and nutrition in a positive and fun way to communicate powerful changes that every individual can make to contribute to a better future for all of us.

The concept behind the inSpiral lounge is a well thought out and holistic approach to a better world for all of us. Here are some of the foundations upon which this organism is based:
Healthy Nutrition
We pride ourselves in providing near 100% organic produce, most of them prepared in house by our progressive chefs, using the finest ingredients to serve you a purely vegetarian, mostly vegan, seasonal and balanced diet, enriched with our pioneering raw gourmet cuisine, healthy treats – all at very affordable prices.
Positive Music
We represent a large range of global ambient artists, streaming unusual and delicate music throughout the day. We make a distinct effort to provide you with soothing and positive music, stepping away from the mainstream message currently emphasized by our global media.
Outreach Strategy
We recognize that nobody likes to get preached to, so a much softer approach of self-determined choice is sought:
Critical information will be communicated via:
- The food lines – info about ingredients etc and reasons why it is a good choice to eat/drink them
- Info material available in store – about issues concerning the environment and what each one can do to make a positive contribution
- Multimedia Displays – the InSpiral lounge features a rich multimedia setup, which at times uses subtle means to inspire reflection
- Events that take place including film screenings, presentations, talks, workshops, musical performances etc
- The website – the aim is to develop www.inSpiralled.net into a hotspot for information exchange of seeking and inspired individuals
Musical Direction
In a world where much of the music we are exposed to talks about money, power and sex, InSpiral will make a strong counter point by featuring a distinctly gentle and positive musical genre – ambient & global music. This wide and hugely creative genre will lay the soothing background to what aims to be a social hotspot of communication and ideas exchange. Rather than creating a dance club our focus will be on people experiencing people – set against a thought-inspiring ambience.
The InSpiral lounge will be providing a wide range of entertainments, from established DJs and recording artists to live acoustic performances, films, poetry and spoken word. The environment will be specially tailored for the enjoyment of music, with the benefit of our state-of-the-art in house sound system. Special emphasis will be placed on the showcasing of new talent especially artists who make it their business to push the boundaries of style and content. The InSpiral music policy will run the gamut of styles from Dub, World Groove and Ambient, through newer expanding areas such as Glitch-Hop, Electronica, Ethno-Dubstep, Minimal, IDM and Folktronica, to name but a few!
To that effect the lounge is already featuring a variety of themed events on a weekly basis:
Friday Nights – Electronica Eclectica Downtempo grooves from all corners of the electronic world, including live PAs and occasional instrumental interludes, with a topping of physical performances, films and spoken word
Saturday Night – inSpiral nights taking the pitch one level higher we are exploring the realms of dubstep, funky electro, minimal and progressive beats, again against an inspirational background of multimedia and performances
Sunday Harmonies – our showcase night, for acoustic talents, poets and singer songwriters. A unique opportunity to share within a glowingly positive environment
InSpiralled.net – our online musical world
On our growing website we are currently developing a world wide portal for the promotion of positive electronic music, within the above defined boundaries of our sonic world. At www.inspiralled.net you can already listen to more than 200 amazing albums, find out about artists and genres and purchase music of your liking. Very soon we will add downloads to our range and are aiming to inspire artists to engage with our site by allowing profiles and upload features. Set against a truly ethical background far richer than based on its musicals merits alone we trust that this site will attract forward thinking minds and those opening up to new horizons alike…
InSpiral and Multimedia
We recognize that multimedia and modern technology offer a unique vehicle to communicate in this day and age. We have therefore set up:
• A multi-screen installation throughout the venue
• Free Internet Access for public use
• Video Conferencing Facilities and Live Transmission Capabilities
• Video Art (VJ) capacities
• Computer presentation facilities
• Film display facilities (for screenings, documentaries, presentations etc)
• A high spec sound system that recognizes that the magic is in quality not in quantity • A small stage that can feature small performances, speakers, electronic live PAs and even dance performances
Film Nights, Talks and Inspirations
At present the lounge is hosting a Monday Film night – showcasing short films from a broadly political, environmental and sociopolitical background. The screenings often include questions and answer sessions with the filmmakers and participatory discussions.
We are also developing a further night called Tuesday Talks, with a strong focus on Health, Nutrition and Well Being.
We aim to showcase some of the amazing products we host in the lounge, including gourmet super live food evenings, foster discussions about relevant spiritual issues and present some of the most forward thinking minds (and speakers) to the wider public.
Spirited Spirits
We also feature one of London’s only 100% organic cocktail bars. With a wide range of all time classics and in house creations you can find your personal taste, or try one of our locally sourced (and also organic of course) beers, ales, ciders or wines. Add to that the unique range of potent elixirs we stock and you are in for an interesting experience…
Our Flagship – in the heart of Camden
The Flagship Venue for the InSpiral concept lies in the very heart of one of London’s most vibrant areas – Camden Town. Positioned on the corner of the traditional Camden Lock Bridge and the busy High Street (and untouched by the recent fire incident) the InSpiral lounge is fast developing into a popular attraction for walk by traffic as well as becoming a destination venue for a much larger area. Featuring stunning Canal views, two floors, outside jetty seating and an amazing development potential this is the perfect development ground for our ambitious plans.
Walking the Talk
In line with our high ambitions we currently have put the following into place:
- A seasonal menu – reducing food miles where possible
- A 100% organic ingredient list – thus avoiding the use of pesticides and insecticides etc
- Onsite recycling – reducing landfill and encouraging consumer thinking
- Green Energy – we are a Good Energy customer – thus supporting carbon neutral

- Bio Degradable Packaging and recycled materials where possible
- Energy efficient LED lighting installation
- Eco Friendly Cleaning Materials
Many more steps are planned in the near to long term future, including a large scale wind generator, an onsite wormery, and a perma-culture roof garden.

I have just been to inSpiral where they have recently launched their latest innovation – a totally vegan, sugar free (as far as agave counts as that) and soya free ice cream range.
Some of the flavors (and they have lots) are based on young coconuts, some on cashews – seriously – never had anything so amazing in my life. To find something so delicious and actually healthy has been a real eye opener.
I heartily recommend this to even the most hardened dairy and sugar ice cream fan – you will be amazed.
anyway – the lounge is an awesome place – they are telling me that they are now changing their hot and cold buffet so its going to be entirely gluten and soya free! I have been checking out progressive health food places for quite some time now in particular around london and I think there ain’t no other place that combines that kind of thinking with so much fun and dynamism
the only downside is that they don’t stock their cds in the shop anymore – you have to order online – bit annoying but hey…
