CONTAINS – Er…? Are you a confused consumer?
Monument, Grainger Street, Newcastle 18-28 October 2007
After all that fun in London it was time to explore pastures New… Newcastle in fact! CONTAINS was part of DE07, the design event of the north-east, and Dott 07 [Designs of the Time], a year of community projects and events exploring what life in a sustainable region could be like. We packed eight shipping containers with sustainable design, parked them smack-bang in the middle of town and opened the doors. We asked the people of Newcastle to consider what goes into the stuff they buy. [re]design’s ER words helped confused consumers make buying choices that were better for people and the planet: CLEANER, CLOSER, GREENER, LIGHTER, LONGER, RECYCLER. MORE!
