PURELY SKINCARE products are the brainchild of John O’Brien.  John wanted to create a natural brand, but go one step further than most other brands which use ‘naturally derived’ ingredients, or supplement some natural ingredients with their chemical cousins. PURELY SKINCARE avoids all chemically derived ingredients.

Not only is it free from SLES but also all the other potential nasties that make up most body products available on the high street. The range includes:

100% NATURAL – Sounds pretty obvious doesn’t it?  This means the products are 100% natural with no man-made ingredients.  They’re also all sustainable and completely GM free.  Other products claim to be natural but often use at least some man-made ingredients, or even ‘nature identical’ ingredients. 

NO SULPHATES – OK, the chemistry lesson begins here.  Most products that foam up (shampoo, shower gel, bubble bath, face wash etc.) use sulphates, which come from the family of detergents known as surfactants. We’ve left sulphates out.  It means the products create less foam, but are much more mild on the skin. 

NO ARTIFICIAL COLOURS OR FRAGRANCES – We’re using top quality plant extracts and oils and they smell gorgeous enough.

NO PETROCHEMICALS – More chemistry I’m afraid.  As you can probably guess, these are chemicals which derive from oil (yes, the clue is in the name).  This doesn’t make them bad in themselves – petroleum jelly is great for dry skin – but they can block pores, so we thought we’d give these a miss.

NO PARABENS – There has been some research to suggest that parabens build up in the skin over time and this can, potentially, be very harmful.  We’re playing this one safe and leaving them out, too.

NO ANIMAL PRODUCTS – Every ingredient in our products comes from plants (except water/aqua), and those plants are sustainable (i.e. farmed or managed cultivation) and GM free.  And that also means no animal testing.  Ever.
