Who's the Greenest of Them All?

Is there an environmental, ethical or social issue that’s made you angry this year? Did you act on it? That makes you a campaigner and the Green Awards wants to hear from you!

For the first time, the marketing industry’s Green Awards is including ‘people power’ in its annual awards for environmental, ethical or social campaigns, more usually won by companies or organisations with advertising budgets.

This year, the Green Awards is accepting applications for a new ‘Campaigner of the Year’ category to reward creative and committed individuals who get their message across using their own contacts, funding they raise or donate, and old fashioned ingenuity.

A shortlist of Campaigners will be notified by 15th October by email and invited to the gala ceremony at the Brewery in London on November 12th. The winner, announced at the event, will receive a trophy, photo accepting the award, Green Awards publicity to further support their campaign and invaluable exposure to more than 600 influential individuals involved in green issues, including the United Nations Environment Programme and Friends of the Earth.

The Green Awards is in its 3rd year and is well-known for its awards to the company or brand that does the best job of communicating green and ethical values to the general public without ‘Greenwashing’. The organisers hope the campaigner category will show mainstream brands that it’s possible to make an impact with very little budget.

Do You Qualify For a Green Award?

Any campaigner who has set a goal or campaign target, has set about achieving it and can explain what they were able to achieve in the process is eligible for a Green Award.

Campaigns can be as local as your street, school, college or company or may involve a town, city, borough or even a national campaign.

The Campaigner of the Year will be the individual who is judged to have been most creative in getting results for their chosen issue, regardless of the size of the campaign or the budget.

To apply for the awards simply visit www.greenawards.co.uk to download a form. Closing date for entries will be September 17th.
