And with more than 40 stalls, including – Tate & Lyle, Cafédirect, Divine Chocolate, RSPB, Shared Earth and World Music Network, the event brings together the very best in Fairtrade, sustainable and environmental gifts, food and drinks over three fabulous floors.
Surrounded by a fantastic selection of design boutiques, fine dining and some of London’s finest visitor attractions, the Ethical Christmas Emporium is the perfect alternative to high-street Christmas shopping. Avoid the crowds on Oxford Street and seek out unique and beautifully crafted gifts in the stunning surroundings of Oxo Tower Wharf on the South Bank. The Ethical Christmas Emporium is not only cost-effective when it comes to finding those special Christmas treats, but buying products with the FAIRTRADE Mark you can also be sure that producers from all over the world have secured a fair price for their produce and will have something to celebrate this Christmas.
A local Youth Club Choir will come together through a live satellite link-up with a choir in Ghana to entertain visitors to the event with festive carols, while Green Santa will be on hand to spread a little Fairtrade Christmas cheer. In addition there will be children’s activities, food tastings, films, informative talks, music and much, much more.
The Ethical Christmas Emporium is sponsored by Tate & Lyle, who, following their commitment earlier this year to convert 100% of their retail sugar to Fairtrade by the end of 2009, have just announced the first of their baking range products to switch to Fairtrade in time for key Christmas baking season. The event also coincides with London’s bid to become the world’s largest Fairtrade city.
