The more I read the news the more apoplectic I become. Basically it comes down to two core truths: Big Business Sucks; Big Politics sucks. The former has sucked everything and everybody dry, robbed us of all life. The latter has suck

Thoroughly depressed by Lily Lapenna - some of us are trying to earn a living as social enterprises engaged in providing PR and marketing services, yet she essentially recommends just blagging it for free. Suggests to me, that like many other Third Sector organisations, she doesn't value the skills that can be supplied.
Would she try and blag some new computers/vehicles/meeting rooms/cups of tea?
Or blag an accountant? Or a bank manager? Or a chief operations director, or an HR person?
Why then does she suggest this for communications professionals?
Some of us could do with a bit of practical support from other social ennterprises - thought this was supposed to be a supportive sector? - rather than trying to get people to work for free. It's not clever and its not funny.
We do pro bono work for other social enterprises, but we would like to be able to choose and not be undercut by willing 'interns' and 'blaggers'.
