Slieve Aughty Centre, County Galway
Remote and peaceful, the centre is set in the hills of the Slieve Aughty Mountains. We have a fleet of horses and ponies for enjoyable treks through the surrounding 2000 acres of Coillte managed forest. Several accommodation options are available. Our full board option includes three delicious home cooked organic meals a day, cooked with ingredients from our own stock and organic garden. As many products as possible are locally sourced, such as cheese from Killeen Farmhouse and eggs from our neighbour’s hens. Available for booking in 2012, our new guest house will offer nine uniquely decorated ensuite rooms and full board. Here, the professional kitchen will cook gourmet meals daily, using home grown fresh ingredients. Esther established the organic garden over 30 years ago after spending time employed on an organic farm in Holland. She offers regular workshops at the centre for those interested in establishing their own organic garden and polytunnel.
