Chateau d’Ygrande, Auvergne, France
Built in 1836 in northern Auvergne, the chateau was a modern building for its time – embellished on each side by wings consisting of a simple ground floor covered with a terrace. It is now a charming hotel of nineteen rooms with a gastronomic restaurant. We have a vegetable garden, which fulfils a certain part of our needs, and are constantly searching for suppliers of organic produce as much as possible. Most of our fruit, vegetables and to a certain extent, meat are organic. The chateau nestles in a hundred acres of parkland with an equestrian centre, fishing, a swimming pool near the orchard, and a charming terrace where guests can sit and relax and enjoy the view over the woods and small lakes that pepper the landscape. http://www.organicholidays.co.uk/at/3064.htm
