Westmill Wind Farm
Westmill Co-op was established in 2004 to build the first onshore wind farm in the south-east of England - 100% Community Owned. ---Shair offer just launched--- Shares in the wind farm went on sale to the public on 22nd Nov. 2005 and are available to anyone in the UK. The five turbines, planned for Watchfield, South Oxfordshire, are expected to start turning December 2006 and will provide enough ?green? electricity to power more than 2,500 homes whilst avoiding the release each year of 10,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide. Westmill Co-op is a member of the Energy4All family of co-operatives and is the first initative of its kind in nearly a decade.
