We are proud to show you our collection of beautiful and cleverly recycled gifts for all occasions. All gifts featured in our store are made from materials that would have generally been discarded and thrown away. Instead, they have been given new life with amazing results. We aim to offer gifts that are unusual, affordable and play a small part in helping the planet. We are continually sourcing new products are proud to stock Doy Bags which are a range of bags, purses and accessories made from recycled juice packs - non-biodegradable foil and plastic packaging that would otherwise go into landfill sites and incinerators or simply litter the waterways and streets. Doy Bags are made by a women's cooperative in the Philippines – which means that every single person involved in the production of the bags has a say in how things are run. In addition to receiving a fair and living wage, the cooperative provides safe and hygienic working conditions, reasonable working hours (i.e. no forced overtime).
The cooperative makes a real difference, elevating families from extreme poverty to a decent life. No children or minors are permitted to work for the cooperative under any circumstances. The co-operative began as an environmental project with the aim of ‘cleaning and greening’ the local neighbourhood. The co-operative provides employment to over 200 local women. By buying Doy fairly traded bags you can be sure that you are helping to improve the lives of these disadvantaged women and their families.
