The NSC works in partnership with progressive organisations in Nicaragua and the UK to promote social and economic justice. This is achieved through campaigning and lobbying in the UK and the development of solidarity at all levels between the UK and Nicaragua.

NSC, FAIR TRADE & THE ENVIRONMENT
NSC is committed to fair trade, is a member of the Fairtrade Foundation and has sent many Fair Trade Study Tours to Nicaragua over the years. Where possible the imported goods we sell are from Nicaragua or other Latin American countries, with part of the profits going back to the producers. We also sell some goods produced in the UK to our own designs or bought from solidarity organisations.
This year, 2011, we are starting to work around the theme of Building Communities, Protecting the Earth. We are organising two environmental tours to Nicaragua looking at community solidarity, increasing food self-sufficiency and protecting the environment. Participants will spend one week living in a rural community and working on an organic gardening programme, and a second week visiting community and government food security and environment protection programmes.
