At Anili we strive to offer parents and educators ethically produced kids products that have a clear educational purpose, care for our environment & are fun. Our products: 1) Children's Books especially designed to help children up to age 12 develop stronger literacy skills. What makes these books different is that each one explores a different area of language. This lets children focus on one aspect of language at a time while enjoying a good story and developing their basic skills. 2) Handmade Playdough with 100% natural ingredients: flour, salt, cream of tartar, a spot or two of water and vegetable dyes lovingly brewed from organic beetroot, onions, tumeric powder and Natural Flavor blue food colouring. So it’s good enough to eat, but we wouldn’t recommend it! 3) MultixFun - the only numeracy game around that practices loads of different numeracy skills, grows with your child and really develops their confidence in maths! We have 2 games - MultixFun Junior and MultixFun - which have been specifically developed by age group and Key Stage level. This is a traditional board game. 4) Organic felt bears iindividually handmade using 100% natural wool and stuffed with organically grown lavender. The bears are wonderfully tactile, soft, smell gorgeous and will aid sleep for little one's. Choose from a variety of colours.

Ethical and Environmental Policy

Is simple – products that care for our world and the education of our children.
We have 4 principles at our heart:-

Education

* Our products rely on sound educational principles to enable children to learn about their world and, to improve their literacy and numeracy skills. We strive to provide the opportunity for heuristic play for babies and role-play, conceptual, creative and imaginative play for older children. We strive to complement the Sure Start and National Curricula for early years and primary education with special emphasis on language, mathematics and ecology
* We provide useful and effective resources for parents who want to expose their children to enriching experiences and opportunities for improving scholastic and social achievement

Ethics
* All materials are sourced from producers with strong social responsibility
* We subscribe to the 10 principles of fair trade as set out by the World Fair Trade Organisation, ensuring that the small scale producers in the developing world receive a fair and stable price and work under fair conditions without the use of child labour
* We aim to recruit a local workforce and improve the lives of all our colleagues in the informal marketplace by offering the skills and means to enable them to provide a better life for their children
* All relevant safety criteria are met or exceeded in all our products. We do our utmost to protect users of our products from exposure to chemical toxins
* We care for the health of our children by using organically grown bamboo fabric and filling in our soft toys. Bamboo fibres are naturally antibacterial and deodorising due to the presence of a bio-agent known as “bamboo kun” or “bamboo chinone” We use locally grown lavender in our bedtime stuffed toys to encourage peaceful sleep

Environment
* Our handmade products are created using as far as possible natural fairtrade fibres grown according to established organic agricultural principles without chemical pesticides and fertilisers, from plants that have not been genetically modified. (25% of the world’s chemical pesticides are used to grow cotton which takes up only 4% of agricultural usage of land)
* We strive to use only products from sustainable sources and to maintain a low carbon footprint by using local suppliers and services where these are available
* We strive as far as possible to use biodegradable products and packaging
* We strive to raise awareness of the need to minimise the negative impact on the environment of our purchasing decisions

Entertainment
* The emphasis is on “edutainment”, on learning, developing confidence, analytical thinking, turn-taking and interpersonal skills, in a fun and exciting way. In the current market-place children have high exposure to digital games and toys, especially those based on TV and movie characters. Anili strives to redress the balance by providing traditional, hands-on tactile experiences.
