Rounded Developments Enterprises
Rounded Developments Enterprises (RDE) run the Eco Home Centre in Cardiff. The centre houses a range of products and services that are designed to make environmentally friendly building easy and accessible to the people and community organisations of South East Wales. The website www.rounded-developments.org.uk has lots of information surrounding sustainable construction in the area. RDE is the local stockist for earthBorn and Auro paints, Lindab guttering, ARU Windows and Doors and a wide range of other building products. This range of products has been collated to make energy and water saving simple in new build, refurbishment and DIY projects.
The Eco Home Centre also has a range of domestic energy saving products like the Eco Kettle, Tap Magic, Efergy Elite and E2 Electricity Monitors.
Ethical Policy
We are a small not-for-profit organisation that is passionate about sustainable development. The Eco Home Centre is one manifestation of this, where we are bringing the goods and services to the people of SE Wales where before it was missing. Where local goods and services are available, we sign post to these and where they are missing, we have sourced them and act as a supplier in order to ensure that people can access them quickly and easily. We have engaged in a Quality Management System (PQASSO) and Environmental Management System (Green Dragon) to help ensure that our working practices are suitable to the services that we provide. We therefore manage our waste, transport, products, maintenance and procurement procedures with an environmental and ethical bent. We purchase locally, consume organic fairtrade food stuffs and buy recycled or second hand products wherever possible. We bank with the Co-operative Bank for ethical reasons and we sign post people towards other ethical and environmentally responsible products. We have a comprehensive set of policies that we work to including: an environmental; work life balance; equal opportunities; and training and development. These were developed in partnership with the Welsh Development Agency's Equality project.
