Twiga is Swahili for Giraffe, unique, beautiful and elegant!
Our mission is to Bring unusual, handmade, ethically sourced products to our customers in the UK and abroad whilst enabling crafts men and women in Africa and Asia to access international markets and support themselves, their families and their communities.
We are dedicated to providing a range of quality, hand-made, authentic, yet contemporary Fair-trade products for men, women and children. We have stunning glass beaded jewellery, silk scarves, cotton scarves, leather bags, cotton bags, Fairtrade clothes for kids and much more, all handmade using natural or recycled materials. The leather bags for example are made in Nepal by women who were trafficked as children and the cotton bags are made by women's coop in Ghana.
Ethical and Environmental Policy
All our products are ethically sourced. 80% of our products are from either BAFTS registered suppliers in the UK, or Fairtrade certified suppliers abroad. The rest of our products are fairly sourced directly from producers or from organisations representing them such as cooperatives.All our products are handmade using natural or recycled materials.
As an organisation we aim to recycle packaging wherever possible and to source packaging made from recycled materials. In the office we keep printing to the minimum.
We actively promote Fairtrade through blogging and are committed to supporting grass roots charities in the countries where we source our products.
