Bags of Change
Bags of Change is a loyalty scheme with a difference: instead of a plastic card, shoppers get stylish ethically-made bags that award them discounts on ethical goods at over 70 participating stores nationwide.
The Bags of Change website lists a growing network of independent shops that sell Fairtrade, local, organic and sustainable goods. Bag owners also receive a free e-newsletter with all the latest news on ethical shopping.
Bags of Change promotes the independent ethical sector by combining targeted marketing for retailers with information, discounts and a fashionable, ethical bag for consumers.
Ethical Policy
Our current bag is made from organic cotton - manufactured by a certified Global Organic Textile Standard compliant company and certified by Control Union. The Processing of the fabrics, both de sizing and printing is carried out by a GOTS certified company where the chemicals used are approved under GOTS and monitored by Control Union.
The bag production is carried out in Bangalore and the factories comply with the statutory requirements such as statutory minimum wages, state insurance, provident fund and bonuses. All the units are equal opportunity employers where cast, creed, religion and gender plays no importance.
The bags are sea freighted to the UK to minimise their carbon footprint.
