Bordeaux Quay
Bordeaux Quay is a unique Harbourside venue in Bristol that comprises a restaurant, brasserie, bar, deli, bakery and cookery school - under one roof. Housed in an elegant, converted warehouse on the waterfront, Bordeaux Quay offers excellent food, sourced with locality, seasonality and excellent quality in mind.
We recognise the overarching value of food and the effect our choices have on our health, environment, economy and lifestyle, and we are working to make Bordeaux Quay as environmentally responsible as possible.
Ethical and Environmental Policy
We work to make Bordeaux Quay as sustainable as possible across all aspect of what we do. Some examples of this are:
- The sustainable materials sourced for the building renovation which include:
- The European Oak wooden floors
- The bar back made from old wine crates
- The Brasserie furniture made from sustainable chestnut, oak and ash and the upholstery made from Isle of Bute wool.
- Solar hot water panel on the roof reduces the energy needed by the boilers
- Low energy lighting and motion sensors in many rooms to reduces energy consumption
- The skylight and the large windows that allow natural ventilation to cool the building in the summer and reduce the need for artificial lighting during the day
- A rainwater-harvesting tank that collects the water from our roof and uses it to flush the toilets
- Instead of mineral water we serve specially filtered tap water in reusable glass bottles

- Work with suppliers who we know and trust to find the best ingredients available
- Buy fish from Cornish day boats and divers
- Buying local game and wild mushrooms
- Serve freshly squeezed orange juice from Fairtrade oranges
- Make coffee certified by the Rainforest Alliance
- Change our menu daily to reflect the best of the seasons
