Calon Wen Organic Milk Co-operative
Established in 2000 they are a Co-op owned by over 20 farming families from across Wales. Their aim is to secure a long term market for organic milk from Wales by supporting organic processing needs in Wales.
Calon Wen organic milk undergoes minimum processing to retain its goodness and flavour. It is simply pure, unadulterated milk, which is pasteurised, packaged and sold.

Ethical and Environmental Policy
Calon Wen is the first dairy in the UK to achieve the Soil Association Ethical Trade Symbol. This confirms Calon Wen’s commitment to fair and ethical trading relationships with everyone involved in the production and packing of Calon Wen milk a fairer return for our farmers, and, also, our commitment to support the local communities where Calon Wen farmers live and work.
Calon Wen’s ’Fancy a Farmer?’ won the natural and organic 2007 award for best marketing / advertising campaign. Its main focus was to draw attention to rural economies worries regarding migration towards cities resulting in low numbers of youth in the countryside - not to mention finding dates for our farmers!
Calon wen recently achieved an organic first by selling our milk in our envionmentally form of packaging, the eco pak. The environment is high on our agenda and whilst being a big risk to us as a relatively small co-operative it was a risk we where willing to take in order to reduce plastic waste within the dairy industry. We also use renewable energy to process all our milk.
Calon Wen recently won the Welsh Co-operative ‘Most Innovative’ Co-op award.
