Carry-A-Bag LTD
At Carry-a-bag Ltd we make unusual shopping bags using a mixture of utility fabrics like striped mattress ticking and organic calico alongside lovely old vintage household fabrics harvested from old curtains and tablecloths.
Sally Walton started the business in 2006 after becoming increasingly enraged about the curse of plastic bags contaminating the landscape. She had become dismayed by alarming statistics about plastic bags when researching her book EcoDeco published in 2000 and re-published in 2007 and decided to spread her simple message CARRY A BAG by printing the words on bags that you would want to be seen with. She recognised that there were bags out there that did the job but were being left at home. Carry-a-bag.com is a friendly and easy to use website with an ever-changing supply of lovely hand-made bags to choose from.

Ethical Policy
Carry-a-bag Ltd is run in a way that causes the least possible harm to the environment. I believe in treating people fairly and with respect and would not ever dream of doing business in any other way.
I buy recycled fabrics and also use Fair Trade organic cottons and calicos, linen from a Russian farm co-operative. The other fabric that I buy new is from an independent English mill, so I am sure that they abide by British and European employment and environmental laws.
My packages are wrapped in recycled brown paper with eco-friendly brown tape from the Green Stationery Co.
My website is hosted by Green Webhost.
Any outsourcing is done through Bishopston Trading Company in Bristol who have a Fairtrade partnership with a factory in India. When I use outworkers I pay £2 above the minimum wage and would not discriminate on the grounds of age, race, gender or disability provided someone could do the work to meet my high standards.
I am a supporter local environmental initiatives.
