ecovallee yurt camp

New in 2010, écovallée offers nature lovers and eco-minded families: an 18-foot coppiced chestnut yurt sleeping up to four; a 12-foot play/meditation yurt; canvas-covered kitchen & eating area; compost toilet; use of the host family's bathroom with flushing toilet and washer-dryer; fresh eggs from the orchard; seasonal veggies from the allotment; 12.5 acres to explore - and easy access to the many attractions in one of the world's most popular tourist detinations. Other than chickens, this year's domesticated animals include rabbits, ducks, pigs in the woods and a not very hard working working horse. All for just 350 euros a week.

Ethical and Environmental Policy

Ecovallée was born out of the need to live self-sufficiently and sustainably and everything is geared towards that.

If there is a way of doing something more responsibly, ethically, or environmentally friendly, we do it.

Building materials are sourced as locally as possible (often just metres away).

Where possible, furnishings and fittings are re-used or recycled.

If the work can be done by hand or horse, it is.

When in profit, ten percent will go into tree planting schemes.
