Ethical and Environmental Policy

The company exists to promote development of a properly informed market for low carbon and sustainable energy technologies. This means a market where customers know what the environmental consequences of their purchasing decisions are, and hence understand have the necessary (technical) information required to make ethical choices. We are professional engineers, supplying impartial trechnical advice to individual homeowners, organisations and construction professionals so they can specify and purchase technologies that minimise their carbon footprint and optimise the specific projects they are working on. Among our projects is a publicly-funded 15 month initiative to educate the construction supply chain and public sector clients about the best ways to incorporate sustainable technologies in their projects and buildings. The kind of work we do includes modelling the long-term benefits of sustainable and low carbon technologies to encouarge customers to take a longer-term view in their buying practices. The company employs 8 staff and has environmental, purchasing and equal opportunities policies that comply with the relevant statements above. 25% of our staff are presently women, and we buy fairtrade supplies, use recycled materials where possible and use an eco cleaning firm for our offices. We have a town centre office with no car parking, and more than 60% of the staff walk or cycle to work.
