Fairwind

Fairwind was one of the first fair trade gift retailers and campaigners in the UK. Owned and managed by Teresa Owen, Fairwind has been trading since 2000 selling a fantastic selection of high quality fairly traded gifts from all over the developing world.

Fairwind is driven by a passion for fair trading terms for all partners in the supply chain, as well as concern for the environment and a belief that everyone can make a difference. That passion is supported and enhanced by a belief in trade, not aid; Fairwind only stocks the finest, high quality products that are desirable and well priced for the UK consumer and profitable for everyone in the supply chain.

Fairwind has also been leading the UK campaign to make Nordmann Fir Christmas trees fair trade. Working with the pioneer in this field, Bols Forstplanteskole in Denmark, Fairwind has brought the ethical issues around the UK’s most popular Christmas tree to the public’s attention and is working with growers and retailers to change the way the Christmas tree industry operates.

“Every time you spend money, you are casting a vote for the kind of world you want” – Anna Lappe, US ethicist

We have the best systems in place to ensure that your purchase or enquiry is processed to your absolute satisfaction. If, for any reason, we do not achieve this please do contact us to let us know.

Our eco credentials

We ensure that our producers use materials from sustainable resources wherever possible. We also recycle, use recycled products and packaging where possible; e.g. we recycle our cardboard, printer cartridges and paper and reuse the packaging that is sent to us by suppliers. We also buy recycled stationery and support the conservation efforts of the World Wide Fund for Nature by donating 10% of the proceeds from the sale of all of our elephant products.
