fou furnishings

Fou Furnishings award winning and original collection of  organic bed linen adds natural style to any bedroom; baby, child, country, contemporary or traditional. Fou furnishings made the top three in, Best Organic Textile Product, for the second year running.

We also have eco gifts for all the family, online, mail order and via selected retail independents. The entire Fou Furnishings bedding collection is made from 100% organic cotton in very high thread counts, 330, 400 and 475. Three of our ranges are certified by the UK Soil Association, the remainder are Oeko-Tex class II and our Indian collection is Fairtrade certified.

We have just launched 'little fou' our brand new baby and kid's organic bedding, with limited edition design cot bed and children's duvet covers, with matching fitted and flat sheets in our super soft organically certified 330 thread count sateen.

Great care has been taken in the sourcing of our bed linens and gifts - from the choice of fibre to the finished product. Half of our bed linen collection also features the registered ‘Fou duvet’ top-opening cover design, which makes putting the duvet cover on much less of a struggle.

We care about the use, quality and comfort of our products. How they feel against your skin and efficient design, but we have also made sure that our fabrics have been treated, tested and finished in a way that has maintained their organic integrity. Every product in the collection has a story.

Our bed linen fabrics are woven with long staple cotton fibres, which are inherently strong and soft but will withstand frequent laundering and still look good. Our products have been rigorously tested for colour fastness, pilling, shrinkage and even seam strength.

Special attention to sourcing, finishing and testing ensure the organic bed linen you buy from us will not only bring you luxury and style, but also affordable, natural and lasting quality which is considerate to your skin, the environment and the people involved in making it.

We also offer a wholesale service for interior designers, retail independents, hospitality and spa establishments. We can offer a bespoke sourcing service including organic fabrics, organic bed linen, bedspreads and upholstery fabric and ship internationally.

Ethical and Environmental Policy

The aims of Fou Furnishings’ are an important element of the company and how it operates. These are stated as:

sustainability
To promote a sustainable supply chain, which Fou Furnishings has defined as one which is economically viable, socially just and environmentally sound for all partners involved and at all stages of the supply chain. All of their linens are 100% organic cotton and are made to the Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS), an assurance of the quality and organic status of textile products, extending from cotton harvesting through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing through to packaging and laundry. The company is (GOTS) certified by the UK Soil Association, License number DK20268, the UK’s leading certification body and environmental charity.

quality
To source exceptional quality by only using the highest quality yarns and fabrics available in certified organic or sustainable materials at a competitive price.  To ensure the quality of their products, all linens have been specified and independently tested by Fou Furnishings for performance against the company’s own and external standards e.g. colourfastness, shrinkage, pilling and allergy inducing dyestuffs.

Additionally, the company deals only in high thread counts which need to be woven from long staple fibres such as Egyptian organic cotton which is renowned for its quality. Bed linen fabrics which are woven with long staple fibres inherently contain the natural strength, softness and durable quality of the fibre which will withstand frequent laundering outlasting those fabrics made from inferior or shorter staple cottons.

design
To offer original design which provides a different and distinctive choice for hotels looking to source eco-friendly but exceptional quality, original and bespoke bed linen collections at prices which didn’t literally cost the earth.

customer service

Last, but not least, to offer a personal, flexible and efficient service which delivers on any commitment made to customers, or to apologise and to make amends.
