Greenstamp is the online eco website. We have a fabulous range of innovative environmentally friendly products, together with great recycled, energy efficient eco home and office products all of which help move towards a sustainable lifestyle.
Greenstamp was established to give you somewhere to shop for the most innovative eco products and gifts for the home that cause less environmental damage, are fairly traded and produced in a sustainable manner.
We’re a family run business, we work from our home in Cornwall and whenever it’s possible we promote locally produced eco friendly products. We are passionate about bringing the highest levels of customer service and are always looking for ways to improve.
We try to reduce the environmental impact of our business by running our business from home in an energy efficient manner. Where possible we ship your products directly from the manufacturer/distributor to reduce their transportation.
The products we choose will help you save on your bills and reduce the impact you have on the environment.
Ethical and Environmental Policy
We believe that everyone has a duty of care to the environment and to seek ways to conserve natural resources. We are in the nature of our business always conscious of environmental issues and as part of our every day business activities follow these guidelines:
Purchasing policy
- Purchase environmentally friendly products whenever possible. This includes those which are recycled, recyclable, made from renewable materials, are reusable, made from non-hazardous materials or are energy efficient.
- Minimise the transport of our goods by having them delivered directly from the manufacturer or distributor whenever possible
- We will work with all of our suppliers to encourage that they minimise their waste.
Waste
- Always looking to reduce the amount of waste we produce, reuse what we can and recycle the rest if possible
- Increase our use of email and resist the temptation to print off messages
- Minimise our waste by choosing products that we use that have minimum packaging, which is reusable, biodegradable or recyclable.
- Reduce the amount of paper mailed out, scan and email where possible.
- We separate all rubbish and compost everything.
- Opt for paperless billing where possible
- Reduced our junk mail by registering with the Mailing Preference Scheme
- We reuse as much waste as possible for instance: we make notepads from discarded paper, we shred waste paper to help package our products, and we reuse boxes to package our products.
- We try to keep the packing we use for postal orders to a minimum whilst protecting the products.
- We do not purchase plastic packaging but we may reuse plastic packaging that we have received from our suppliers.
- All our bubble wrap is reused; we collect it from local businesses.
- We use cellulose tape on our parcels which is biodegradable
Energy
- Turn off lights and other electrical appliances, including computers, when not in use
- Support the use of renewable energy in our products sold and those used in the office
- Use energy efficient bulbs
- Our equipment is never left on standby
- Our heating come from an energy efficient log burner which runs mainly on scrap wood collected throughout the year from local building sites. (Hard work but worth it).
Greenstamp’s everyday policy
Being a small family run business with ethical products at the core of our merchandise, we are committed to implementing this as a practical, working policy. We run our business from home and do not have the need to make car journeys. Any meetings that need to be held in person are done in conjunction with other necessary journeys. We will never travel miles (which we would have to do from Cornwall) just for one meeting.
