Working directly with suppliers in Nepal we import Scotlands largest range of Fair Trade knitwear, clothing, jewellery and handicrafts. Currently trading throughout the West Coast of the Scottish Highlands during the summer months, look for us in Plockton, Ullapool, Findhorn, Tobermory, Inverness, and find us in Byres Road, Glasgow during December. Working with our producers since 1990 we have established close friendships with our Nepalese and Tibetan suppliers whom we visit bi-annually to ensure that our Fair Trade commitments are being upheld. Working together on community development projects to enhance the lives of Nepals disadvantaged producers is a highlight of current trading partnerships.
Ethical and Environmental Policy
Since establishing our business in 1990 it has been our goal to improve the livelihoods of and opportunities for disadvantaged communities in Nepal. Knowing the individuals who are involved in manufacturing the products that we import has kept us focused on sustainable development which is reflected in our daily work practices.
Since our inception our founding ethos has been based wholly on the principles of fair trade. Our personal commitment to producer partners keeps our daily operations focused on our goals.
We are continually looking at ways to improve trading opportunities for our business partners in Nepal and are currently looking for a designer to share skills in Nepal, working on the production of aloo (nettle) fibre bags that will increase employment opportunities in the foothills of Nepal.
Our exhibitions are used as forums to advocate for fair trade and educate the public about the ability of their purchasing power to contribute to improving livelihoods for disadvantaged communities.
