Host Universal is an ethical communications consultancy working with change-makers and continually redefined by its clients - a network of independent talent working together to unlock the extraordinary power of ethical brands and organizations.
Host partnered Cafédirect from start-up to develop brand positioning and product strategies, communications and live events; including the cult 5065 Lift and Flight 5065 (a Fair Trade Festival on the London Eye in the run up to the G8 summit in 2005) as well as the Share Issue that raised £5m of loyal consumer investment. Working with Penny Newman and Sylvie Barr, Host created innovative strategies and people powered marketing that drove 15 years of Fair Trade pioneering, inspiring a new consumer and creating the World’s No1 Fair Trade brand.
Host collaborated with Anita Roddick, Body Shop International with a brief to bust the media stereotype of the waif, creating the global self-esteem platform and a worldwide campaign - enter Ruby, a size 16 barbie doll, built to tackle difficult issues like Anorexia and Bulimia head on.
Following the 100% Fair Trade road, Host works with the World Fair Trade Organization to develop strategy and communications across identity, cultures and change-programmes – developing digital infrastructure and World fair Trade Day campaign tools.
Other work includes Root Finance, Ecotricity, SERRV, Triodos Bank, OKé USA, The Lorna Young Foundation (LYFE), United Bank of Carbon and Social Finance to unlock in pursuit of The Sustainable Economy. We’d love to work with you.
