We are market leader in the supply of eco friendly natural jute, cotton and canvas, promotional bags. We currently supply many local authorities and commercial institutions throughout the UK. During his visit to India in January 2008 our supply partner was personally selected by our Managing Director. This family run business based in Kolkata manufacture and supply us with a wide range of high quality products, produced in their modern factory which meets with our ethical requirements. We offer a bespoke service which means your bags can be uniquely designed to suit your needs. Choose from a wide range of sizes, colour combinations and handle types to create the perfect solution. We are a family run business, our skilled telesales staff, administrative and graphic design team work from modern spacious offices and make use of state-of-the-art IT and communication equipment.
Ethical and Environmental Policy
Since jute, cotton and canvas are not indigenous to our country we initially had concerns about where in India we would be importing our bags from and how we could ensure adequate working conditions and a fair trading policy were in place. As a result of our investigation and research we can now assure our clients that the products we buy and supply have been produced carbon neutral in an ethical and environmentally sound manner and are fully biodegradable.
We use one manufacturer for the supply of all of our natural bags, a family run business based in Calcutta, India. They have provided us with a copy of their own Ethical Trading Policy Statement and in addition to this we are happy to provide you with further details of our own trip to India where we were able to visit the factory where the bags were produced to see for ourselves the conditions of employment. As a result we can guarantee the following:
• At no time has our supplier ever employed child labour
• Employees are not forced to work excessive hours
• Staff is employed in accordance with Indian labour laws
• All employees are free to leave their employment without penalty, at any time after giving reasonable notice
• All employees are free to leave the factory at the end of their shift
• All employees are paid regularly
• All areas of the factory are kept unlocked whilst employees are present
• First aid is available in the factory
• Employees have a lunch break every day (one hour 1PM to 2PM)
• Residential facilities are not provided
• Drinking water and sanitation facilities are provided
