Ethical Policy

Planet Angel puts its ethical principals into practise in many ways. We hold socially inclusive events both for over 18s and families and have been doing so for 7 years. Planet Angel is a company limited by guarantee, (No. 5182243) and is one of the early Social Enterprises. It�s an ethical organisation with stated aims in its constitution that it that seeks to make a social and environmental profit. Via its events that promote positive social interaction, the company has achieved an excellent Social Profit rating in the last financial year - witnessed by a survey that revealed that; across an age range of 18 to 68: 95% of customers said they had benefited from Planet Angel. Benefits are wide ranging from increased self-esteem, wider friendship networks and gaining the confidence to start a new career path (with many going onto the voluntary/charitable/ethical sector), some have started new companies and are generating employment for themselves and others. In addition to holding events where customers feel able to be themselves Planet Angel also offers benefits to the crew who work at the event by providing a non-hierarchal working environment that fosters personal growth. We positively encourage the empowerment and mentoring of our �crew� by devolving responsibility and ensuring that each crew role has �work shadows� to build experience, and provide a breadth of viewpoints and knowledge to each role. Not only does this help develop confidence, it means that Planet Angel can provide work references that help crew to develop their careers. Over the last few years we have been focussing on making a social profit and now we are making plans to develop initiatives that will generate an environmental profit. We are starting with a few small practical ways of achieving this like asking our audience to recycle old mobiles via The Woodland Trust�s recycle envelopes which raises fund for the Trust. We�re also arranging a family day out to a nature reserve and are introducing books about ways to help the environment to our shop. Our main plan to make an environmental profit however is via a strategic project that is underway. This project is commercially sensitive at the moment but it involves significant long tem sustainable conservation enterprise that will be of measurable environmental benefit. Another way that we put our ethical principals into practise is via our Event Organising and Resources services. This service is an all-encompassing event management service whereby organisations can hire Planet Angel to organise their event. Again for these events we call on our crew to work at them which further helps individual development and offers real employment opportunities. We also use and promote environmentally responsible resources, for example the use of LED lighting technology which has a much lower environmental impact than traditional glass lighting systems (much less power, much longer life).
