Ruby Moon is a small independant family run alternative gift shop sitting on the edge of mainstream High Wycombe. It is the destination shop for the town's many students, and for those with an eye on the alternative and underground culture that is thriving in the area. We have a policy of buying fair traded goods wherever possible. We can telll you the provenance of just about everything we sell, and try hard to be responsible, ethically minded retailers. In a nutshell, we care about our customers. We stock a fabulous range of Fair trade clothing, a huge range of over 250 different incenses, some gorgeous and unusual jewellery from India and Indonesia, plus fair traded musical instruments, ethically mined crystals and stones, plus a great range of fossils. We stock textiles, and fair traded gifts from around the globe. Didgeridoos to Dinosaur poos! Celebrating the unusual since 1998.

Ethical and Environmental Policy
We have a policy to buy fair trade whenever possible. In practice this means that we have approximately 40% fair traded stock from registered BAFTS members. The remainder is from companies who are not necessarily registered, but who we feel are doing their best for the people they work with. We can tell you the provenance of the majority of our gift stock and clothing. wehave recently found a crystal company who have an ethical mining policy.
As a shop we encourage our suppliers to use recycled materials for packing purposes. We then recycle the paper, and re use the bubble wrap and other packaging in our shop. We use recycled newspaper carrier bags from a fair trade supplier in this country, who buys them from a non government organisation set up by street children, for street children in India. We do not use plastic carrier bags. We have fair trade tea in the staff room. Although I cant wean our manager off typhoo!
We try to inform people about fair trade, and what it means through our point of sale material, and through talking to them about our policies.
