Founded in 2004 creative catalyst Societás™ comprises an award-winning sustainable innovation think tank, incubator and consultancy and brings world-class creative and intellectual talent to a wide range of projects.
Pioneering and experimental in approach we bring together expertise of the visual and audio arts, cutting-edge design, state-of-the-art communications, next-generation strategy, sustainable solutions and a global network spanning the full spectrum of the creative industries.
Futurologists, we work with some of the most influential and progressive companies in the fields of design, digital, media, publishing and the arts. We are engaged in several pioneering sustainable design projects, working with leading scientists, designers, strategists and academics in the field.
We have jointly founded two annual international visual arts awards that celebrate the best emerging creative talent globally; the Creative Graduate Prize™ launched in 2005 and the Iconique Societás Awards™ launched in 2007.

We bring our knowledge of state-of-the-art technology, cutting-edge design, sustainable innovation and the very latest cultural and aesthetic trends together with a truly world-class team of consultants and partners to ensure that our work is not only ethical, but directional, exciting and highly effective. Together with our partners and clients we aim to help bring about what we've dubbed 'The Industrial Ecolution'.
Societás™ embraces a 'business as unusual' approach and our motto is 'Excellentia vel Nusquam' (Excellence or Nothing). Our name 'Societás' (Society in Latin) stems from our collaborative community-spirited approach. The Global Women Inventors & Innovators Network have awarded Societás™ a Special Recognition GWIIN Organisation Award for our work capacity building in the sustainable innovation sector.
Societás™ is a member of Social Enterprise London, One Green Earth, SEE What You Are Buying Into, Hub Culture, 10:10, Arts For COP15 and the Green Achiever scheme. Our founder and CEO Melissa Sterry is an Enterprising Business Awards winner 2009, an everywoman Network Awards finalist 2009 and listed in the Future 100 - 'the one hundred talented young entrepreneurs who are demonstrating entrepreneurial flair and innovation in progressing a responsible business venture'.
Our business model engages the latest thinking in sustainable innovation and is designed to create the lowest carbon footprint and water footprint possible. Societás™ has a virtual office set-up and our team work remotely from their own studios, both nationally and internationally, with all travel kept to an absolute minimum.
Societás™ has a zero-paper policy, down to the fact we don't use letter-headed paper, comp slips or business cards. All supplier services and products are sourced from sustainable and ethical suppliers, from banking to web hosting, tea bags to cleaning products. Our website is powered by solar.
We only buy from, work with and supply to companies that embrace the sustainable and ethical values we champion.
