The EcoVillage
Everyday we hear and read that we need to reduce our carbon footprint. We're told that it will help us save money as well as protect the planet. But how do we really do that, and where do we start? Isn't being green really about costing more? Can I really make a difference? Surely it's too much hassle?
The EcoVillage is about helping people to live a greener, more sustainable and often healthier lifestyle without compromise.
What is the EcoVillage?
The EcoVillage is an exhibition event. It is a dedicated area for organisations promoting green products, services and initiatives and it is taken to existing events and exhibitions. With a good mix of information and entertainment we hope that a visit to the EcoVillage will help people to live a greener life.
Why?
The EcoVillage team believe that helping the environment is about making small everyday choices to live more sustainably.
The EcoVillage is designed to help people discover the products and services, the advice and the inspiration to change their buying and living behaviour. We also hope to promote the idea that a lower carbon footprint does not mean a lower standard of living. It is simply about responsible decisions that help to preserve our environment for the health and happiness of future generations.
Who for?
Our exhibitors are green and sustainable businesses selling credible products and services enabling us to reduce our carbon footprint. The EcoVillage is designed for everyone who visits to keep up to date with the latest green developments.

Ethical and Environmental Policy
Ethical Policy/Principles
At The EcoVillage, we are committed to protect our natural resources. We strive to ensure that our business activities will always fulfill the aspirations of our clients without compromising the needs of our environment and future generations.
Our ethical and environment principles are paramount to our business, and as such we expect both clients and suppliers alike to share our commitment. We truly believe by using appropriate management systems and industry collaborations, we can reduce or even offset the impact we have on the environment.
Purchasing Policy
We will not comprise our environmental or ethical beliefs through our purchases; we want to buy ‘best value’ products and services regardless of where that is at the ‘lowest price’. Before we will trade with a business we make sure they share our commitments. We purchase recycled materials from local suppliers wherever possible in order to reduce CO2 emissions and support local businesses.
We commit to paying our creditors with fixed time scales as we understand the financial constraints late payments can have on a business.
Local Community
The local community is important to us and as such we would like to give something back to the community in which we work.
It is our intention as we grow to set up a scheme where by the Company will donate £50 per new employee to the charity of their choice.
Social Responsibility
We advocate flexible working. We offer all employees flexible working hours to fit around family demands. We encourage virtual working in order to limit the environmental impact of our business.
We aim to strengthen and grow environmental and ethical believes of our staff through good business practices and a good working environment.
Work life balance is the key to ensure all our employees remain healthy, stress free and happier at work. Whilst we accept that long hours are sometimes inevitable, we strongly encourage staff to keep this into perspective.
Employee will shape and strengthen our business and as such we want to involve them in key decisions of the Company. We encourage employees to express their own views and involve them in decision making processes. We hope employees will feel a sense of loyalty and personal responsibility/reward for the direction and success of the Company. We will reward this hard work and dedication with a profit related bonus scheme for employees at Christmas.
Business Travel
We intend to set a ‘Bike to Work scheme’ whereby employees are able to buy a bike at a discount rate.
As we source locally our suppliers, employees and often our clients we encourage the use of public transport when attending business meetings.
