The Rubbish Diet
The Rubbish Diet is an independent blog that encourages people all over the world to reduce their landfill waste and slim their bins using positive stories and humour. It began as a diary of one woman's challenge to attempt a Zero Waste Week, but now profiles individuals and businesses, sharing best practice and inspiring others. The author, Karen Cannard, is always keen to to hear from people who are Zero Heroes or who want to have a go at The Rubbish Diet challenge.

Ethical and Environmental Policy
Although, not an organisation as such, as the author of The Rubbish Diet I follow a wide range of personal ethical practices including buying organic, free-range and fairtrade where possible. I choose local produce, use local markets and independent stores or supermarkets with strong CSR policies such as Waitrose. I also buy products which have zero or minimal packaging. I limit my car usage as much as possible, using the bike when I can. I believe strongly in community development and volunteer as a governor of a local primary school and I'm an active member of a Local Exchange Trading System, called Bury LETS.
