Ethical and Environmental Policy
Green Policy
Todich Floral Design LTD commits to providing the greenest possible service at no extra cost to our customers by:
- Maintaining our delivery vehicles and ensuring they are serviced and inspected regularly by a dedicated mechanic to keep them in mint condition to reduce carbon emissions
- Switch our vans over to LPG before March 2010
- Utilizing our unique delivery software to generate the shortest route available for deliveries to reduce carbon emissions
- Recycling all of our organic waste, including those flowers returned from weekly contracts. This waste is turned into compost which we then use for planting
- Recycling all of our general and personal waste by allocating 3 separate units for disposal which are: glass, large paper/newspapers and plastic.
- Sourcing British grown flowers where possible to reduce our carbon footprint
- Purchasing flowers from local suppliers. This ensures the minimization of carbon emissions created by air freight and long haul transportation that can be caused by our other alternative (daily visits to and from Holland) whilst supporting the local community. All purchases will follow the environmental purchasing policy guidelines.
- Use Fair Flower Fair Plants accredited flowers when local supply is not available.
- Assessing the effectiveness of this policy once every twelve months and sourcing new efforts and initiatives to improve.
- Consider and utilize the Mayor’s Green Procurement Code where applicable and suitable
- Continually source and improve the number of recycled products used for both staff and shop requirements
- Continually updating this policy and document our initiatives in progress and completion for a greener planet.
