Ethical and Environmental Policy

The Wales Fair Trade Forum is a network of organisations dedicated to promoting Fair Trade and does not itself operate as a business. The only businesses that are members of the network are registered with either IFAT or BAFTS.

The campaign to make wales a Fair Trade country is being run to raise public awareness in Wales of the issues behind unfair trade, such as child slavery on cocoa plantations in the Ivory Coast, unsustainably low prices to coffee producers in Africa, and appalling working conditions suffered by workers in banana plantations in South America.

The campaign also targets businesses to encourage and support them to switch to selling Fairtrade products.
