Yew Clothing is an ethical sports and outdoor clothing brand. We make high performance sports clothes from sustainable materials like recycled plastic. Our range includes fast drying wicking tops for active sports, and warm breathable fleece jackets to keep from getting too chilly. Our casual range includes comfy organic cotton t-shirts.
Our kit is perfect for running, climbing, hiking, cycling or just walking the dog.
Yew Clothing is also a member of 1% For the Planet, a group of companies that commits to donating 1% of sales to environmental causes.
Ethical and Environmental Policy
Yew Clothing was founded as an alternative approach to producing sports clothes.Sustainable:
The materials we choose for our clothing must meet a rigorous set of environmental characteristics. We are currently using 100% post-consumer recycled polyester for our performance fabrics. This requires less energy consumption in production, reduces resource use and reduces waste. We also use organic cotton for casualwear, which limits chemical use in farming and reduces dangerous working conditions. Throughout our business we aim to limit our impact. For instance, we use a green energy supplier (Good Energy), use only recycled paper in the office and currently for all marketing materials, and attempt to re-use packaging wherever possible.
Social:
We made sure that the factory producing our clothes had fair working conditions and spent significant time with them to ensure that we could verify their claims.
Charitable:
Yew is a member of 1% for the Planet, a group of companies that commit to using 1% of their sales for environmental causes. We also support other charities, including the Child Welfare Scheme, Nepal. We donate all our unused design samples to a homeless charity (St Mungo's).
